Sustainability at HICE

Sustainability

At HICE, sustainability is not just a goal, it is an integral part of how we operate. We recognise the impact of climate change and the importance of reducing our dependence on fossil fuels. That is why we have made a conscious choice to run our company as efficiently and sustainably as possible.

Our facilities are powered largely by renewable energy sources. We have installed 90 solar panels and 5 solar water heaters on our roofs, significantly contributing to our annual energy needs. In addition, a 15-metre wind turbine supports our energy generation.

To heat our facilities, we use an 80 kW wood chip heating system with an automated feed from a 30 m³ bunker. This system allows us to operate without reliance on natural gas.

By combining solar, wind, and biomass energy, HICE is approximately 85% self-sufficient in its annual energy consumption.
