The Bow Cable Engine (BCE) is a unique HICE-developed solution designed specifically for cable loading and transpooling operations.

While its operating principle is similar to that of a Linear Cable Engine, the BCE is primarily used to transfer cable from temporary storage, cable coils or turntables directly onto a vessel. Suspended by crane, the BCE pulls and guides the cable efficiently in the direction of the vessel.

Because these operations require relatively low pulling forces, a compact two-wheel drive system with a 2T pulling capacity is sufficient. This results in a lightweight and compact design, making the BCE easy to transport, efficient to mobilise and practical to operate on site.
