MCPA to MLA: a new step in modular cable handling

Hulst Innovation Cable Equipment has further developed its Modular Cable Pick-up Arm into the Modular Loading Arm, or MLA.
The MLA is an upgraded version of the former MCPA and marks an important step forward in the development of HICE’s modular cable handling solutions. Where the previous system relied on an external crane, the new MLA features an in-house designed and optimized arm, developed by the HICE engineering team.
This upgrade gives the system more independence, efficiency and control during operation. By integrating the arm into the MLA design, HICE has created a more complete and practical solution for cable handling operations.
Another important improvement is the transportability of the system. The MLA has been designed to be transported in two 40 ft High Cube Open Top containers, making mobilization and on-site deployment more practical.
With this development, HICE continues to focus on smart, reliable and practical equipment for the offshore and cable-laying industries.
